About the role

Position Description

At Invictus Innovations, we help public sector organisations turn complex transformation into services that work first time. We specialise in designing, assuring, and transitioning secure, resilient digital and networked services that underpin critical national infrastructure and frontline delivery across the UK.

Our work sits at the intersection of service design, SIAM, network transformation, and assurance-led delivery - bringing structure, clarity, and measurable outcomes to programmes where failure is not an option. We partner closely with government departments, defence and security organisations, and complex supplier ecosystems to design operating models and services that are resilient by design, operationally sound, and commercially grounded.

At Invictus, you won’t just “deliver a role” — you’ll help shape how transformation is done. We give our consultants the freedom to take ownership, the trust to lead, and the support to grow. You’ll work alongside experienced practitioners who care deeply about doing the right thing for customers, users, and delivery teams, and who believe that strong governance, clear accountability, and thoughtful service design are the foundations of successful transformation.

We are committed to building an inclusive, high-trust community of professionals who value integrity, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Our culture is collaborative, outcome-focused, and grounded in real-world delivery - not slideware.

Due to the secure nature of our client engagements, many roles require UK Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain it). Roles are typically hybrid, with time spent working alongside client teams on-site as well as remotely.

What You’ll Do at Invictus Innovations

In this role, you’ll work alongside senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and suppliers to design, assure, and transition complex IT and network services into live operation. You’ll help shape service strategies and operating models that balance people, process, technology, governance, and commercial realities, ensuring services are not only well-designed but are adoptable, operable, and measurable in practice.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to our clients—bringing clarity to ambiguity, structure to complexity, and confidence to decision-making. You’ll help establish service baselines, design future-state operating models, and embed assurance and controls from early design through to live service and continuous improvement.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Lead & Shape – Define service strategies, operating models, and service management approaches aligned to client outcomes.

  • Design & Deliver – Produce Service Design Packs, HLDs/LLDs, and transition artefacts that provide clear delivery and operational roadmaps.

  • Assure & Improve – Independently assure service designs and transition plans, embedding controls and driving continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate & Influence – Work across multi-supplier and SIAM environments to integrate services into live operations smoothly.

  • Architect & Align – Design target operating models that balance user needs, operational capability, and technical constraints.

  • Optimise & Enable – Assess processes, simulate service flows, and improve service performance and resilience.

  • Mentor & Grow – Support and coach junior colleagues, helping build consistent, high-quality delivery capability.

  • Contribute & Develop – Support bids, propositions, and client engagement, shaping pragmatic advisory and delivery offerings.

What We Look For

We look for people who are comfortable working in complexity, confident engaging senior stakeholders, and passionate about building services that stand up in the real world. You’ll bring a blend of service design thinking, operational realism, and delivery discipline.

Typical experience we value:

  • Strong background in service management, service design, or SIAM within complex, multi-supplier environments

  • Experience designing services for network, telecoms, or critical IT platforms

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end service lifecycle (design → transition → operate → improve)

  • ITIL Foundation (or equivalent service management grounding)

  • Experience producing and assuring service designs, operating models, and transition artefacts

  • Ability to translate complex technical and organisational requirements into practical service designs

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and advisory skills

  • Commercial awareness of IT services, SLAs, and contractual delivery models

  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading delivery workstreams
